O’Charley’s Menu Prices History 2022
Mr. Charley Watkins opened the first O’Charley’s restaurant in 1971 in Nashville, Tennessee.
The first location in Tennessee was located on 21 Street Avenue South near Vanderbilt University. The proprietor, Mr. Watkins owned and operated the restaurant from 1971 until 1984. In 1984 he sold the O’Charley’s establishment too. David K. Wachtel.
On the 19th of January 1984, Mr. Wachtel incorporated O’Charley’s, Inc. as a corporation that was the owner of O’Charley’s restaurant. He also opened other restaurants and transformed the establishment into an establishment chain.
By 1987 the company was operating establishments located in Lexington, Kentucky; Huntsville, Alabama; and Nashville, Tennessee. Through the years the chain continued to expand and the company was taken public in the year 1990.
The company began to notice an increase in profits and sales. The stock price began to fall too. The company’s executives evaluated the situation and came up with ways to improve the company.
As part of his plan to figure out a way to boost sales of the company, Ms. Wachtel hired Mr. Charles F. McWhorter Jr. as the senior vice chief operating officer and president of the business.
He. McWhorter came up with the idea of having an enlarging menu. Other modifications included more adjustments to the menu, as well as a price reduction. In the meantime, the business expanded and by the year 1992, it was an established chain of restaurants with 37 units.

The chain did however continue to expand. In 1999, it was home to over 106 locations. In 2002, the chain had more than 180 establishments.
The was the same year that business was featured as one of Forbes’ “200 Best Small Companies in America” for the third time in consecutive years. There are now more than 200 locations across 17 states.
